TDA4VM: Remote access to EVM

Part Number: TDA4VM

Hello,

We have the need to be able to access to a TDA4VM EVM located in Créteil, France, from Cairo, Egypt.

Could you describe how to set this up please ? Do you have a user guide for this use case ?

Typically i'm organizing with my local IS to have the EVM connected in Ethernet to Internet.

So the EVM will receive a public IP.

So far I need:

- The user guide to set this up

- The list of protocols and ports to open in the WAN firewall by my local IS

Thank you in advance for your help

  • Hi Eric,

I am sorry, I don't have a user guide for this as this is not a typical use-case on customer side.

Typically the basic setup will consist of

    1. A remote PC (with CCS installed) connected to the EVM through 1x JTAG and 2x UART ports (Main + MCU)

    2. CPSW 2G port connected to a local network accessible to the PC or to a public network capable of assigning an IP through DHCP. This will also act as TFTP server and NFS server if you need to update the filesystem and kernel frequently.

    3. A remote switch (accessible) through the PC which can be used to power cycle the EVM

    4. Any other cables or peripherals that you may need to connect to the EVM

The main challenge is selecting the boot modes because you would need to debug various boot modes like UART, OSPI, SD card etc. We have some internal scripts for this but I need to check if I can share them with you.

Can you tell me your use-case so I can provide the relevant information only ? What is it that you need to debug ?

    Regards

    Vineet
