Gentlemen, Here are some questions regarding our application for the 6454 DSP. Please take a look and let me know if you can help answer the following questions. 1) There is a pin called RSV09 that is connected to DGND on our current board design. In an older version of the 6454 data sheet, it had indicated that this pin could be connected to ground if the EMAC RGMII is not used (we do not use the EMAC). However, we have just noticed that the newest data sheet shows that this pin should be connected to 1.8V. Please let me know what issues we might expect to see with this pin connected to ground as we currently have it. 2) The other question is more of a note on where we are currently at with the HPI32 integration. We have been able to bring the 6454 out of reset, set PLL registers (via host port) and observe correct clock frequencies. However, I do not believe we have access to L2 SRAM and I believe read accesses to other registers within the 6454 are not correct (all zeros). Please let us know if the RSV09 pin connection could cause our Host Port Read access issues. 3) One other question is in regards to the 14 pin JTAG connection. Can you please send me information to purchase the correct JTAG emulator and software (from TI or 3rd party) to help us debug our intended system connections – HPI32 and EMIF. Sincerely, Randy Holmberg
Thank you for your assistance in this. Lori Hagen
