TMS320C6652: PLL Boot Configuration Settings

Part Number: TMS320C6652

Hi experts,

In the case of C6652, how should I look at "6.25 PLL Boot Configuration Settings" in the datasheet(SPRS841E)?

I have checked "6.25 PLL Boot Configuration Settings" in the datasheet, but in the case of 6652, the internal clock is limited to 600MHz. Currently, the clock input is 100MHz in No boot Mode, so I think the BOOTMODE [12-10] setting is 011, but in reality, it works with other settings. However, the internal clock seems to be different depending on the setting because the DSP surface temperature is obviously different.

I would like to know why the above phenomenon is observed, so I would appreciate if you could give me some information about the behavior of C6652.

Best Regards,
O.H

For C6652, the device willinitially boot up initially at 850 MHz.  As part of the secondary boot loader device PLL  must be reprogrammed to a lower frequency, if you are using a 750 MHz or 600 MHz device.

The part may work at higher frequency, but we do not guarantee operations if the customer is buying a 600 MHz device and running at higher frequency post boot.

    Hope this clarifies

  • Hello Mukul san,

Sorry for the late reply. Thank you for your support.

I understood. I will use a secondary boot loader to reconfigure the PLL.
