Output source on the FDK kit

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: STRIKE

Hello,

I need to find an output source on the FDK kit without doing any major programming changes.  I would like to connect the FDK kit directly to an transmitter and i need a kind of output source that activates when the kit matches a fingerprint. It could be a logic output or a voltage output. Somebody please help asap. This is for a senior design project and we are running out of time.

Steve.

  • Hi Steve,

Were you able to figure out how to output from the FDK in time?

I would try to use one of the GPIOs.

Header on the Core Board (has C5515 DSP):

Header on the Extension Board (has push buttons):

See that the pins labeled GPIO3 & GPIO4 on the core board are not connected on the extension board. These pins actually go to GPIO22 & GPIO23 on the DSP. Try to toggle these GPIOs in software and see if they toggle pins 5 & 6 on header J1 at the header.

    What does your project do?

    Hope this helps (in time),
    Mark

  • Hello Mark,

I will certainly try that. The goal of our project is to unlock the door strike of the home. We want the FDK to be wireless, hand held and we want it to trigger a transmitter that will send a signal to a receiver which will then unlock the door strike connected to the door frame of the home front door. The FDK works like it's supposed to, but we are having a hard time finding an output source once a fingerprint is matched. We will definitely try you suggestion. Is there any other way to get in contact with you if we have any other problems? Thanks again Mark.
