66AK2G12: Can the PRU ICSS execute instructions placed in shared memory ?

Part Number: 66AK2G12

Hello,

The PRU_ICSS instruction memory of 16kB is fairly small on K2G devices. The data memory is even smaller at 8kB. In my design I have reached close to 70% usage of the instruction memory and am attempting to use a portion of the shared memory as an extension. I have been able to place my code in the shared memory and have verified this both by viewing the .map file and also device memory, however the code never seems to execute.

Can the PRU ICSS execute instruction from shared memory ? If yes, is there a special procedure that needs to be performed to allow it to do so?

Thanks in advance.
