66AK2G12: Dummy Cycles in QSPI boot

Part Number: 66AK2G12

Hi,

According to TRM Table 4-9 and 4-10, Dummy cycles used in QSPI boot is selected based on BOOTMODE[11:9].COMMAND PIN field.
For example, if COMMAND PIN=7, Dummy cycles are 6 cycles.

My customer is asking if the Dummy cycles can be changed.
There is "Dummy bytes" field in QSPI Boot Parameter in Table 4-24.
Is this what customer need to modify to change the Dummy cycles above?
If so, why this parameter is marked as "NO" in "Configured Through BOOTMODE Pins?" (the most right column in below table)

Thanks and regards,
Koichiro Tashiro

  • The dummy cycles cannot be changed independently. They are pre-defined for each command value.

Table 4-24 details dummy bytes, not cycles. The number of dummy bytes default value is dependent on the condition listed -0 (1bit) or 2 (48MHz) or 8 (96MHz). This is not user changeable by the boot pins, hence the NO.
