AM6548: Boot from SPI

we saw note :"SPI is not supported on J721E platform (not be confused with QSPI/OSPI). "in: https://software-dl.ti.com/processor-sdk-linux/esd/AM65X/latest/exports/docs/linux/Foundational_Components/U-Boot/UG-SPI.html

Our question is: can am6548 support it booting from SPI?

Yes OSPI boot is supported on AM6548.

But our board didn't use OSPI to connect SPI flash, it seemed we can't use the function of booting from SPI.

Hi,

What is the flash part on your board? I believe you have a custom board on AM654x.

Our custom board mainly use SD to store our codes, and it also had an SPI nor flash(connect SOC_SPI0), now SD part had an HW error that we can't figure out, so we had to use other boot modes.

So there is SPI nor flash on your board. Can you let us know which is that part so we can check whether it is supported for booting?

We use the same circuit SPI nor flash as IDK did(SOC_SPI0), it's a 64MB Micro SPI nor flash.

Hi Kenn,

You can use the UART boot to get to u-boot prompt. I have verified UART boot
on SDK 7.3 in your other thread: https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors-group/processors/f/processors-forum/1019515/am6548-question-about-booting-from-uart/3773421#3773421

to flash the binaries to flash.
