DM6446 silicon revision 2.3 nand boot problem

Hi All,

We recently update our dm6446 design from dm6446a to new dm6446b revision. Nand is HY27UF082G2B.

After successfully flashed (we tried both dvflasher and sfh) the ubl and uboot, we still get "BOOT ME" from our boards.

If we try to flash a second time, the board can boot up and we can enter uboot environment.

What's the problem? We also tried other nand flash, like micron 29F1G08ABADA.

All have the same problem.

The only changes of our board is the Main chip.

So you migrated from Silicon 2.1 to 2.3. Here is the NAND boot differences - http://focus.ti.com/lit/an/sprab80/sprab80.pdf, including the UBL size.

Looks like the NAND boot was not successful and maybe goes back to SPI boot.

I will investigate further, in the meanwhile please keep us posted on status.

We have followed the migration steps. The ubl_nand.bin size is 14KB, which we have been using for quite some time.

Hi Varada,

We tried another nand: SAMSUNG K9F2G08U0B. We still can not get the board boot up.

Can you give us any hint on how to solve this problem? Modify the ubl to make it smaller or anything else?

Please do a quick try with a smaller UBL size, as per Table 1. http://focus.ti.com/lit/an/sprab80/sprab80.pdf

And let us know the status.

We tried smaller ubl, but it won't work

Have you found the source of the problem ? I have a similar issue.
