AM6442: On-chip temperature in Linux/A53

Part Number: AM6442
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM6548,

We are migrating from AM6548 to AM6442. On AM6548 with Linux SDK we used /sys/class/thermal for on-chip temperature measurements. On the AM64x EVM with the default image it seems /sys/class/thermal isn't populated.

Is there an alternative to /sys/class/thermal for accessing on-chip temperatures in Linux on AM6442?

  • Hi Steven,

Yes, reading thermal in sysfs is not supported in current Linux, and no near term plan to add the support yet.

Meanwhile, you can use the attached script to read the temperature.
