Hi,

I'm trying to use the SD booting on the AM6442 with the boot image included in the MCU-PLUS-SDK-AM64X_08.00.00.21.
I followed the manual and the SOC Initialization Using SD BOOT procedure to create an SD card.
After boot, the watchdog is still active and the TISCI communiaction seems to not work.

I tried booting using the OSPI boot which works fine, but I need to program larger parts of OSPI flash so SD boot is needed.

I've read that the SD booting was not supported from the beginning, is it still not supported or is this a different issue?

Hi Robert,

Yes, SD boot is not supported with current SBL. It will be supported in SDK8.1 (Oct-2021)

You can use Linux bootloader in case SD boot mode support is needed.

Hi Prasad,

is there another way to boot the device without using CCS?
Could the .GEL files from the CCS be used to boot the device in NOBOOT mode??

Hi Robert,

Yes, current SDK supports OSPI (Flash) and UART boot. CCS + Gel (NOBOOT) is supported by default.
