PROCESSOR-SDK-AM57X: custom board boot error

Part Number: PROCESSOR-SDK-AM57X
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AM5718, AM5728, DRA722, TPD12S015

Hi all,

I am using
Board Name : AM5718 IDK
Processor SDK version :ti-processor-sdk-linux-am57xx-evm-06.03.00.106
Linux version : linux-4.19.94+gitAUTOINC+be5389fd85-gbe5389fd85
U-boot Version : u-boot-2019.01+gitAUTOINC+333c3e72d3-g333c3e72d3

i am working on Bringing up a custom board using SD card .

i tried in IDK board it worked.

for custom board i changed code eeprom read data in ti/sdk/board-support/u-boot-2019.01+gitAUTOINC+333c3e72d3-g333c3e72d3/board/ti/common/board_detect.c after this u-boot is booted but kernel code is hanged

could you please help me to fix this issue

  • Hi Chandana,

    Please try the below commands from U-Boot prompt:

    env default -a
    saveenv

    Your boot is failing because it is unable to find the rootfs(File system). I believe you have the SD card with rootfs.
    Also are there any changes w.r.t power supply to MMC-SD?

    By Any chance: https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors-group/processors/f/processors-forum/1022090/am5718-unable-to-boot-linux-kernel-on-custom-board/3778905#3778905

    Are you both trying on the same custom board?

  • hi keerthy ,

    thanks for your response

    i tried this command in uboot prompt

    boot log

    eth0: ethernet@48484000
    Hit any key to stop autoboot: 0
    => env default -a
    ## Resetting to default environment

    ## Resetting to default environment
    => saveenv
    Saving Environment to FAT... OK
    => bootz
    ## Transferring control to Linux (at address 82000000)...

    Starting kernel ...

    kernel is not booted

    then i reset the board then  as above  same issue([ 34.401227] pbias_mmc_omap5: disabling) is there.

    Your boot is failing because it is unable to find the rootfs(File system). I believe you have the SD card with rootfs.
    Also are there any changes w.r.t power supply to MMC-SD?

    yes i have the SD card with rootfs, i didn't changed power supply to mmc-sd card .

    Are you both trying on the same custom board?

    no.

    thanks and regards
