AM3358: Device tree modification for Yocto

hi,

I am trying to port Yocto on beaglebone black. I would like to modify the device tree to enable I2C2 port, and then compile for yocto project.

any pointer on how to modify and add device tree for yocto project would be helpful.

Thanks for your fast response.

I have gone through above link. it helped me to understand yocto structure. It also explains how to modify and create a layer. but i am unable to find in video how to modify or update existing device tree (.dts) file.

Can you give some more info on how to add custom .dts file in yocto project.

I'm sorry, we don't support Yocto based customizations beyond this as it is a very wide area. You may find some good help from the Yocto community directly.

For DT changes, I would look at adding your changes as patches in your own git tree and using your layer to pick up this new git tree and changing the commit id to pick up your patches.

Looking through Yocto at other distros based on the SDK might also be helpful to see how others have done it.
