I got a EVM board : J721EXSOMXEVM, the labels on the board are:

I want to know which chip is on it? Is it TDA4xx or DRA8xx ?

Hi,

J721EXSOMXEVM has J721E SoC which is the superset device for both TDA4VM and DRA829.

So any way to identify is it a TDA4VM or DRA829?

They are differences in Vision computer. Only TDA4VM has GPU, DSPxxx and other HWA for ADAS.

When you purchase the device, the part number would be different for TDA4VM vs DRA829. The part number is on the package.

For EVM, only J721E will be on SOM because it includes all the IPs available on both TDA4VM and DRA829.

J721E EVM can be used for both TDA4VM or DRA829 product development.
