AM5728: regarding DPI interface

Dear Team,

We have TI evaluation board (TMDSEVM572x).

and want to interface 24 bit RGB parallel TFT lcd (chineese) having

control command interface with SPI/I2C.

The vendor suggest us to use an IC LT7381 or SSD1963

between SOC and display.

As per my study on DSS, although the SOC has dedicated video output port.

And may it supports direct interface with RGB 24 bit parallel display.

From the above diagram We are supposed to go with direct interface.

Is the right method? or to use external driver IC indeed.

Krishna,

The DSS can display different pics using 3 simultaneous LCD outputs.

you can also refer to the TRM (page 2605) for more information on the DSS and DPI.

Dear Shreyas,

Thank you for the response.

As per reading TRM, I understand

DSS can give Three parallel output DPI 1,2,3 directly.

So any parallel display which have data lines like:-

fid, pixelclk, DE, vsync, hsync, d[23:0]

can be interfaced directly ?

no need any external driver IC between SOC's DPI output

and display.

yes, as per the TRM page 2605 has more details on the control and data bits supported.
