DM365 H.264 CODEC v2.x (Platinum) - question on the datasheet (SPRS543B)?

Team,

A couple of basic questions:

a) there are several modes of operation mentionned in the datasheet - SPRS543B  at page 2 like :
H264_ENC_02 , H264_ENC_04 ,etc .The doc gives ID for each mode.
The are these modes actual parameters for the CODECs (ie used directly as parameters to control the CODEC) or is it only references (for examples config used for tests) to the set of parameters mentioned in the configuration tab at page 2?

b) Still in table 1 page 2. What does SM stands for (ie SM – ON )? What parameter does it refer to?

Thanks in advance,

Anthony

  • Anthony,

The config.  parameters mentioned in the datasheet table were set to the value specified while measuring the encoder performance for that particular config ID.

       For example:

If (T8x8Inter – OFF and T8x8Intra – OFF, SM – ON, CABAC – ON,) is given,

              then

CABAC and Scaling matrix is kept ON while Intra and inter  8x8 transform were  disabled.

    SM - Scaling matrix.

  • Hi,

These are the references to set of parameters mentioned in config tab. We used it to differentiate performance measurement with different features. The details of these parameters are in user guide.

    SM - Scaling Matrix.

    Thanks,

    Veeranna
