SDK did not include DMAI

I notice that the EZSDK that came with the C6A816x EVM did not include the DMAI package.  Is there some reason for this?  I located a download site:

https://gforge.ti.com/gf/project/dmai/frs/?action=FrsReleaseBrowse&frs_package_id=31

The versions listed there appear somewhat old. Is there a more recent archive?  I downloaded version 1.27, extracted the archive, and I see that there is no mention of the C6A8168 device.  Does this imply that I currently cannot use DMAI?

  • Hi,

Currently, there is no plan to add C6A816x support in DMAI. To access the DSP, you could use C6Accel. For multimedia related functions, the pin compatible DM816x will have OpenMAX libraries. A release of the EZSDK supporting DM816x is planned for later this month.

  • TI is going to provide Open Source component OPEN MAX as a solution for all Multimedia based solutions. As mentioned above this solution will be available by end of this month with the release of EZSDK 5.02.

The DMAI solution will not available for new devices like C6A816x,and DM816x.
