TMDSICE3359: MODBUS TCP/IP usecase to connect it to my local LAN

Hi Community,

I am considering TMDSICE3359 eval kit for my new design. I require a standard Ethernet LAN connectivity to send the sensor data to my local network time to time. I don't want to use any industry communication protocols like Ethernet/IP .. etc.

Does this board support my use case? If not please suggest a best board. I am actually looking for mil grade production ready board with basic Ethernet and multiple SPI and UART interfaces.

Please make a suggestion.

If it is possible yes. But my primary concern is to find a development board with Ethernet + Modbus(TCP/IP or UDP) + SPI + UART

Hi Lakshmi,

Unfortunately none of our EVMs are mil-spec. With that out of the way, I can recommend the AM571x IDK (https://www.ti.com/tool/TMDXIDK5718), and plan your design around the https://www.ti.com/product/AM5718-HIREL device, which is a military grade part.

Alternatively, if a device from our enhanced products could work for your application, the https://www.ti.com/product/AM3358-EP is available, and you could use the TMDSICE3359 as a starting point for your design.

Both devices have plenty of SPI and UART ports. Accessing these on the EVM may require some modifications as our EVMs tend to route most interfaces to a peripheral. Alternatively the BeagleBone boards route most available interfaces to a pair of headers.
