AM3358: QT GUI application in latest SDK

Hello,

We upgraded our Yocto project from Thud (PSDK6.03) to Dunfell (PSDK7.3). Could you please provide more information about your errors? Besides your custom board, have you been able to replicate the error on TI EVM? If yes, could you please share the procedure?

I couldn't get access to the EVM but I have observed certain things in my board only.

I have got my QT Application running after restarting the weston service after full boot.This was not the case earlier.

Also I have observed that weston being used in latest SDK is weston 8 and it is using drm-backend.so where as weston in the previous wroking SDK is weston 5 and it was using waland__XXX.so

With the above observations kindly suggest me how do I proceed further.

The follwoing si the errrors I am facing

qt.qpa.wayland: "wl-shell" is a deprecated shell extension, prefer using "xdg-shell-v6" or "xdg-shell" if supported by the compositor by setting the environment variable QT_WAYLAND_SHELL_INTEGRATION
The Wayland connection experienced a fatal error: Protocol error
^CAborted (core dumped)
root@BEL-MVR:/etc/XMPP-qt# /etc/init.d/weston restart
Stopping Weston
Starting Weston
root@BEL-MVR:/etc/XMPP-qt# ./NVR-GUI1

After restarting weston I could see my application is running without issues.

Hello,

Okay, thank you for the log. It is a known bug in our current release and it is listed in our release notes: http://software-dl.ti.com/processor-sdk-linux/esd/docs/07_03_00_005/devices/AM335X/linux/Release_Specific_Release_Notes.html#sdk-known-issues. The SW team is reviewing the bug internally and as of now, I do not have any additional updates. As a workaround, please continue to restart weston upon boot.

Kindly update me when the internal team identifies a solution. As this restarting weston is working manually but automation is not working.

An internal bug has been filed but at the moment I do not have any updates on when the fix could be available.
