SK-AM64: Device Manager Shows XDS110 Class Debug Probe - TI Driver. CCS 10.4 does not connect / xdsdfu -e shows 0 devices found

Part Number: SK-AM64

This is a weird one because windows is showing the Texas Instruments Debug Probe w. Data Port and Debug Port in Device Manager.

But xdsdfu -e  says 'Found 0 devices.'

Have tried connecting through a hub and directly to laptop.

Not sure what to do next - since xdsdfu is the normal tool to debug these things.  Looking for some suggestion on a next step.

  • I grabbed a standalone XDS110 (in the case) and got the same result.  Device manager shows XDS but xdsdfu -e shows 0.

Also noticed on both SK & standalone there is an option to eject. on the toolbar.

    Driver details:

  • Hi Anthony,

Any chance you have an older version of CCS on your machine to test if a bug was introduced with CCS 10.4?  Just a wild guess - I still have CCS 10.2 and regularly use XDS110.

    Regards,
    Mike

  • Thanks Mike!

So it's odd.  I tried to run the CCS installer again and that gave me a message about a pending install requiring a restart, after the restart I'm able to see both the SK-AM64 and the standalone XDS110.

I checked the windows event log and I've rebooted about 8 times since installing CCS 5 weeks ago;  so not entirely sure what is going on.

But at least this was a simple fix.   Only tricky thing is I had to run the CCS Installer again to know that the restart was required.

(There used to be a separate installer for just the emulation drivers I think - but I wasn't able to find that standalone.)
