PROCESSOR-SDK-TDAX: Invalid Target ID error during runtime of application in PC emulation mode

Hello all,

I have PSDK j7. My application consists of 3 nodes- ImageFileReadNode, ChannelExtractNode and CameraCalibrationNode.

I have generated custom kernels for - ImageFilereadnode and CameraCalibrationNode and using OpenVX default kernel - "ChannelExtract"

I am using PyTIOVX tool to generate the kernel and graph.

The application got compiled successfully. But, during runtime I face the following error.

Pleas eguide me in resolving this.

Hi Padmasree,

Which node are you trying to set the target for and what target are you trying to use? Is it a valid target for the given node?

I have debugged the application and found the error to be arising from ChannelExtractNode.

Please tell me why is it occuring..

I have set A72 core and now trying to build in PC Emulation mode. Later, will move to hardware.

Hello Padmasree,

If you are using the ChannelExtractNode from the OpenVX standard kernels, this is only available on the DSP1/DSP2 for TIOVX. Please try setting it to one of these cores.

I have modified the core to be DSP1 and it is working fine now. But, Please let me know if I can modify the source code of TIOVX and change the target to be A72 for ChannelExtractNode.

Hello Padmasree,

Yes, you are welcome to modify the source code to TIOVX. For this particular change, you would need to add a new target kernel implementation for A72 by having a parallel directory at tiovx/kernels/openvx-core/a72 with the implementation of this kernel on A72.

I have modified the source code and able to build in PC Emulation mode successfully.

But, when I tried generating a .out file on Embedded PSDK, I face the following error.

Please guide me where I am going wrong.

Hello Padmasree,

You need to be sure you include <TI/j7.h> in your source file. You will also want to add the below line to the concerto.mak file that is in the same directory as this source file:

IDIRS += $(TIOVX_PATH)/kernels_j7/include

After adding the IDIRS and includes as mentioned, I face the following error from VXLIB packages.

I did not get this error in my PC mode.

Could you please guide me why this is happening?

Hello Padmasree,

Are you using anything from VXLIB? If you have a VXLIB IDIR in your concerto file, I would recommend removing this as this should not be needed.
