C6457 LJCB termination

With respect to the C6457 LJCB termination:

SPRAAV7B: DSPs Hardware Design Guide, Figure 3 indicates that "any unused LJCB inputs should be connected to produce a valid logic level. The recommended connections are shown in Figure 3. The 1-kΩ resistor is to reduce power." The connection is shown to 1.1v.

The TMS320C6457 Data Manual (SPRS582B)  shows in Table 6-4 hat the LJCB I/O buffer is connected to the Supply Core Voltage. We are using 1.2V for the core.

My question is; Should we connect to 1.1V or 1.2 V for “terminating” the unused LJCB?

  • The LJCB input can go up to 1.35V so it is OK to connect to the same supply used for the core through a pull up as recommended. The 1.2V CVdd is for 1.2GHz devices. The app note was a little outdated.
