Hi team,

My customer would like to use AM574x (Linux SDK) in low-power consumption configuration and I’d like to ask your help.

Could you please take a look, and give comments on below inquiries?

Q1: As far as I understand, AM574x does not support CPU stand-by mode, is it correct?

On the Processor SDK Linux Software Developer’s Guide, “3.3.4.20 Power Management” does not show AM574x on the CPUIdle supported list.

Q2: When low power consumption is required, the user needs to control Clock or power supply by PRCM, is it correct?

If it is correct, could you share materials explaining clock domain and power domain details?

TRM does not have info on which domain contains which module.

Hasegawa-san,

The link you had referenced shows that the power can be modulated through DVFS (voltage and frequency scaling). Through Linux, those features are controlled by the use of governors (also listed on the referenced page).

I might be missing your point.... Can you please reply if this is not right?

For Q1, I meant the CPUIdle section on the link, like shown in below pic. Sorry for the confusion.

Also, I'd appreciate it if you could give comments on Q2, too.

Your understanding is correct.

If the customer is using Linux, then the easiest way to control this would be to use the "omapconf" tool. The tool can run directly on the target and it is supported on the default filesystem. Can you please try this and ask further questions?
