TDA4 - J721E consists of two sets of R5 cores. One set of core in the island and another set on the mainland.
If we are using both sets of R5 Cores, do we need to separately configure the MCAL?

Hi Anto,
Yes, the configuration of the code differs for the different MCU cores (i.e. mcu1_0 is in the safety island and mcu2_1 is in the main domain). An example you build might not work if built for a different core, so please configure the MCAL separately.
Some differences include:
- If an interrupt router is necessary
- Expected usage of the Core (e.g. core can be expected to run something by the SDK).
Thanks,
Erick
Thank you for your support..
One of our requirements is to transmit and receive the CAN message from the mainland.
If so, whether A72 core on the mainland can access CAN peripheral directly? Or, only the R5 core can access the CAN peripheral on the SOC. Please confirm. If the A72 core can access the CAN peripheral, then I would like to know whether the Linux-based drivers are available?
Hi Anto,
I believe this question was answered here: https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors-group/processors/f/processors-forum/1037791/tda4---whether-a72-core-can-accept-can-messages-directly
Thanks,
