Hello,
I need to flash eMMC and OSPI flashes connected to a Dra821 trough u-boot. My problem is that loading U-boot using UART is too slow. I've seen it is possible to load u-boot trough DFU.

My question is what HW resources does use DFU boot? I've seen that DFU boot on demo board uses Type-C and serdes pins. Is it possible to connect only USB0-DP / USB0-DM and USB_VBUS pins?

Hi Roberto,

I checked with our USB expert.

It is possible by running the controller in USB 2.0 mode. For USB 2.0, serdes lanes are not required and only USB0_DP/DN and VBUS should be enough.
This would require changes in device tree. J7200's USB dt node can be used as a reference.

Look at U-Boot dts: arch/arm/dts/k3-j7200-common-proc-board.dts

Also the node in: arch/arm/dts/k3-j7200-main.dtsi

Can you send me a modified k3-j7200-common-proc-board.dts to start with?

Hi Roberto,

I misread the subject J7200 as J721e. J7200 should be able to support that.

so from what I'we undestood I don't need to modify dts files to boot without usb3 support is right?

The problem may arise due to the fact that on customer board I have only main_uart2 to communicate with the processor.

Now my question is how can I configure u-boot tu use main uart2 on pins V14 and V13 as uart for Uboot?
