66AK2G12: Unable to read PLL registers

I am using pdk_k2g_1_0_16 on windows host pc with K2Gx evaluation board. I am unable to read the PLL registers. It is coming "target failed to read". In registers section of CCS in debug session, all PLL registers are showing "Error: unable to read". Could you please tell me the solution to read the PLL registers.

What is the output you have configured for CHIP_CLK1 signal for I2C examples in EVM? I want to calculate the I2C module frequency.

Hi Gaurav,

The PLL registers should be readable from the C66x DSP through CCS.

CHIP_CLK1 is from the main PLL which is configured by the GEL file when you connect the C66x DSP. It is set to 600MHz and you should see the following line from the console output when C66x is connected:

PLL has been configured (24.0 MHz * 100 / 1 / 4 = 600.0 MHz)

I am using C:\ti\ccs901\ccs\ccs_base\emulation\boards\evmk2g\gel\evmk2g_arm.gel file. In this PLL is set to 1000 MHz..

PLL has been configured (24.0 MHz * 250 / 3 / 2 = 1000 Mhz.

Is it correct?

PLLM[5:0] is configured through PLL registers. Then is there any other way to confirm the value?

Gaurav,

If the CCS console output shows that the PLL has been configured to 1000MHz when you connect the A15 core, then it is 1000MHz. You can check the PLL registers from CCS > View > Memory Browser. Check the TRM to get the physical address of a PLL register that you want to look at, then enter that address in the memory browser and you should be able to see the register value.

Jianznhong,

I can see registers values in memory browser. Can you help in my other threads on priority basis?

My priority as of now is I2C and Timer.
