I believe you are telling about the white patches which is seen in the lower black strip. of the video. Will you be able to send the encoded stream which you played on the decoder. We would need that to proceed further.

This data is sampled right before it enters the decoder.

This is impossible since I do not send any audio - audio functionality is disabled at the source (encoder).

The pkt_record.dat file contains only video h.264 NAL units.

Whether the shared stream "pkt_record.dat" contains only h264 video data or it contains any non video data as well?

Because, at our end we couldn't able to play using Elecard, vlc media player etc, even JVT decoder unable to decode it. Can you verify at your end whether the shared stream is proper using any of the player etc.

For some reason, the VLC logs also show that only audio stream is present. There is no video data.

In order for you to be able to see the stream I recorded, I inserted SPS/PPS+IDR header at the start of the previos file (justed picked this header from another file I have).

I am able to play this file and see the artifacts on Ubuntu Linux by using mplayer. I use the following command line: mplayer -fps 30 pkt_record_sps.dat

Can you please try that and tell me if you can investigate further?

Can you please check whether the stream is encoded properly. Because the visual artifacts (at the bottom of the frames) observed were similar in most of the media players like elecard, VLC, Vprove etc and the TI decoder output. Even the JVT decoder is able to decode only the first I frame and unable to decode the rest of the frames. Even though artifacts were observed in the decoded output (like, which is seen in other players), but decoder haven't returned any error code. This indicates that the encoded content itself like that and hence there is no problem with the decoder.

As I mentioned before, I have another decoder device from another brand. When streaming from a TI encoder, the TI decoder shows video with artifacts and the other decoder shows a clear video.

This test shows that the encoded video is OK.

In order to investigate the artifacts issue, I recorded a 'dirty' video period and sent it to you.

That's fine, the recorded video also shows the artfacts in the TI decoded output. But, can you please play this shared encoded stream using any of the media player, like vlc and cross check the same.
