Customer support replies:

Hello Yang,

Good day and thank you for reaching out to us here in customer support center regarding your inquiry on the issue you are encountering with TMDSEMU560V2STM-U.

Could you make sure that you are using the following recommended software versions below?
Windows® XP/Vista/7/8/10 (32 and 64-bit)
Windows® 2003 Server (32 and 64-bit)
Linux - Ubuntu, Fedora, RedHat, etc. (32 and 64-bit)
Code Composer Studio v4 (eclipse) - v4.2 and later (up to v10)
JAVA version 6 Update 20. You can download this version from http://www.java.com .

Also, make sure there is no issue with the cable and connection, also, if you could try on a different computer that would be helpful.

Could you make sure to follow step by step instructions here?

Let me know if these helps.

My answer

Hi, Our configuration is as follows,

--Windows® 10 64-bit

--Code Composer Studio 10.3.1

--JAVA version 8 Update 301

We follow instructions step by step from manual out of box and from blackhawk official web site. It does not work on more than three computers.

The issue: The emulator is NOT enumerated as USB device. No “Unknown device found” or any other message pops up.

The list in Windows Device Manager has NOTHING changed when emulator is attached/detached. It seems that the emulator is broken. Please fix it. Thanks!

Customer support replies:

Hello Yang,

Good day and thank you for updating us on this.

I am sorry to learn about this. For replacement, it would be best to coordinate with mouser where you bought the emulator. They will be the one to assist you on this. However I would advise that you consult our applications team in our e2e forum first to validate the emulator. They might be able to help in confirming if the board is broken or not.

  • Hello Yang,

What is the status of the USB and MODE LEDs? Please see the first page of the below document:

    https://www.blackhawk-dsp.com/downloads/docs/guides/USB560v2-QS-01.pdf

    Thanks

    ki

  • Hello,
The USB status led is red,the MODE status led is blink green.I operated according to the instructions. I have replied to you in the email a few days ago. The attached video shows the working state of the emulator, please check.
  • Yang,

Ki is out of the office until Tuesday and can reply when he returns.  You mentioned an attached video.  Was that attached to the thread here or was that sent to someone via email?  I don't see it on the thread here.

    Regards,

    John

  • Hello John,

my video has been replied to this email address noreply-e2e@mail.ti.com, and my email address is hui.yang@hh-healthcare.com. I did not know how to upload the video in this forum before, but NOW I know it. Could you please confirm whether you can receive the video link I uploaded

    Thanks

    yang

  • John is out today.  I can see the video.  So, when John and Ki return tomorrow, I'm sure they will be able to see it.

    Thanks and regards,

    -George

  • Hello,

my video has been replied to this email address noreply-e2e@mail.ti.com

Please do not reply to "noreply-e2e@mail.ti.com". That address does not accept incoming e-mails. It is only used to send e-mails to e2e users.

Thank you for uploading the video. A few observations:

    1) I see that CCS is configured for an XDS100v3. This is incorrect since your debug probe is an XDS560v2. The correct connection type should be "Blackhawk XDS560v2-USB System Trace Emulator"

    2) I see the MODE LED as BLINKING GREEN. It means it is booting up. Does it ever become a SOLID GREEN?

  • Hello,

I reconfigured it and took a new video. Please check it out. The important thing is that the emulator is not enumerated as a USB device. No "unknown device found" or any other message popped up.And the MODE LED  never never become a SOLID GREEN.

  • Hello,

I bought a new one on your official website and tried it on arrival today. There is no problem. The computer can recognize USB insertion, and the MODE LED  become a SOLID GREEN,Please check out my new video for more details. But the emulator I bought from Mouser didn't recognize USB inserts, and the MODE LED  never become a SOLID GREEN,and I switched the USB cable from the good emulator to the bad one,he indicator light was still blink green. It must be that the simulator is broken, Please help me to return the simulator, thank you!

  • Thank you for the latest updates. The issue is specific to that particular probe. As mentioned by TI support in your original post, please coordinate with Mouser to get a replacement probe. You will need to contact them directly.

    Thanks

    ki

  • Hello ki,

Before I contacted mouser, they say, must want you to send email to me with a return or replacement the word, and then I send the E-mail to them, they will help me to deal with, I now want to return the bad emulator, don't want to bothering exchange, mouser platform is more expensive than your website, but does not guarantee the quality, I don't trust them now, Please help me return the faulty emulator,.

    Thanks,

    yang.

  • Unfortunately I cannot help you regarding a refund for the faulty debug probe. You will have to work with Mouser directly for that.

Perhaps it will be better to try for a repair or exchange. I will bring this thread to the attention of some people that can help.

    Thanks

    ki
