XGCONF GUI does not match .cfg script?

Guru 15580 points

I may be confused here, but shouldn't the XGCONF GUI match the .cfg script? For instance, I have created a couple of HWI's and assigned event and called functions to each. Here is the script.

And here is the outline showing both HWI's.

And here is the XGconf GUI. Note that it does *not* reflect the values shown in the script.

Can someone explain this apparent discrepancy?

Thx,

  • Mike,

What version of XDCtools and CCS are you using? I do not see this issue with the latest  XDCtools release - 3.20.8.88 - and CCS4.2.x.

  • Amit,

    RTSC/XDCtools 3.20.03.63

    Plugin version: 3.20.3.63

Could this be a Windows 7 issue?

  • Amit,

Apparently, after a successful build the GUI does reflect some additional information in the script.

However, before the build the information was as I posted earlier.

  • Mike,

I think this is a refresh problem with XGCONF. I see similar behavior when I tried using XDCtools 3.20.03.63.  When I created the instance and immediately selected it in the outline view the properties page for the instance does not have the correct values. However, after validation I see the right values in the properties page.

Do you see the correct values in the properties window after you save the file and then select the hwi instance in the outline view?

  • Amit,

For some reason the GUI is now in perfect sync with the script. I can edit either the script *or* the GUI and the changes are reflected in the other. I must have somehow gotten things out of sync.

All is working well now. Thanks for the follow up.

  • Mike.

Good to know that things are working fine,

FYI - We have done a major rework of XGCONF for  XDCtools 3.22 release (scheduled for beginning of May,2011). This tool will be a lot faster and more robust and should resolve many such issues.

Well.....they were. Now things are not working properly again. I guess I'll muddle through until the May release.

The problems mostly have to do with syncing the GUI and script. Nothing that's a show stopper, but definitely a PITA. Looking forward to the May release.

    Thx,
