Hi,

Which EDMA channel/TC is used for SWOSD?

My customer met problem to use SWOSD with EDMA. That is, if using transparency without EDMA, SWOSD can work ok. We need to understand how SWOSD uses EDMA and then find what's wrong. I can't find such info in SoftwareOSD_UserGuide_DM36x.pdf. Pls kindly help.

Chris,

We use dm365mmap module to utilize the EDMA channels and call EDMA copy routines. dm365mmap module does not allocate a fixed channel for the EDMA transfer. For each transfer it requests for a free EDMA channel and then use it for the transfers. We use TC1 in IPNC Ref Design for the SWOSD.

What kind of issues are you seeing?

Anshhuam,

The problem is that there is no OSD added on the image after calling SWOSD API and there is no error when running the code.

Hi Chris,

Which version IPNC SW they use? As I remember before 2.6 we use TC3.

Thanks for your help. We found the root cause is that customer didn't insert dm365mmap module in their software. But it is strange that their is no error during the applicaiton execution.
