TDA4VM: While booting the board stuck at "Kernel Panic" error.

Hi,

I have been trying to run the prebuilt files https://www.ti.com/tool/download/PROCESSOR-SDK-RTOS-J721E/07.03.00.07 but while the system starts to boot I cannot get past the kernel panic error stage.

For the reference i am attaching the image as since i wasn't able to copy from putty.

I am using "ti-processor-sdk-rtos-j721e-evm-07_03_00_07".

Please suggest.

I am assuming that you are using standard TI EVM. I recommend you to go through:

Diligently follow each step. Take at least a 32GB SD card & try out. There is no known issue with SDK 7.3 boot.

Hi Keerthy,

I followed the steps specified by the links suggested by you, but still I can't seem to move ahead of "Kernel Panic" stage.

I am attaching the error I got after i followed those steps.

Few things I would like to add like we need to execute MCUSW examples not Vision apps, so can you guide us to do so?

We are using SDK version Processor SDK RTOS J721E 07_03_00, SD card 32GB.

We are stuck at booting process only, unable to reach at log in details.

Please suggest.

Hello Piyush,

If you wish to run MCUSW examples instead of Vision Apps, I suggest you go through the setup described in the MCUSW documentation, here we will set up the SD card for running the MCUSW examples as most of these do not require a linux boot:

Hi,

The booting is resolved.

After I ran the "install_to_sd_card.sh" script as mentioned in the links provided by you I used "umount /dev/sd[a/b/c][1/2/3/4]" command for both the sd card rootfs and boot partition and after that I ran the command "sudo fsck /dev/sdb2" (the rootfs partition) to fix the file system error on rootfs and after that i ejected the card reader and put the memory card it in the board and it worked.
