TMS320C6748: What's going to happen if 1GB DDR2 installed with C6748 DSP?

We have a C6748 dsp custom board and installed 1GB DDR2 memory.

We see some weird behaviors at boot up or sudden nand memory erase after firmware upgrade?

Are there any potential risks using larger size DDR2 than the max memory space supported?
