TDA4VM: unable to create tikernelimage_linux.appimage

Hi Team,

I am trying to execute can response and bootloader example from MCUSW following

https://software-dl.ti.com/jacinto7/esd/processor-sdk-rtos-jacinto7/07_03_00_07/exports/docs/mcusw/mcal_drv/docs/drv_docs/demo_boot_app_mcu_rtos_top.html

while creating HLOS appimage after running ./constructappimagehlos.sh j721e_evm

I am facing attached issue.

can you please guide me through this.

Hi,

Please suggest a method to overcome the above mentioned query, cause we are unable to have a proper mpu1_0 bootup without that step.

Hi Piyush,

The reason for the error you are seeing is because you don't have the kernel Image in the folder being pointed to by LINUX_BUILD_DIR_PATH in the constructappimagehlos.sh.

Please set the path correctly and that should resolve the issue.

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah I noticed the image is missing, but I would like say that as per my understanding the images --> (atf_optee.elf tidtb_linux.elf tikernelimage_linux.elf) are formed when we run the "./makemulticore.sh j721e_evm" command.

However, when i ran the command the tikernelimage_linux.elf didn't form.

We are unable to understand as to what led to such a condition.

Please suggest.

The makemulticore.sh script will created remote core applications, i.e. for C6x, C7x & R5Fs. It will build the application for MPU1_0 (A72) as well but that would be when you are running an RTOS app on A72 as well and not running an HLOS (Linux / QNX).

For HLOS images you need to run the constructappimagehlos.sh scripts.

Yeah, sorry for that. The (atf_optee.elf tidtb_linux.elf tikernelimage_linux.elf) are formed after constructappimagehlos.sh running.

But even after i ran the script i couldnt find the tikernelimage_linux.elf. I have been referring the link mentioned by you yet still am facing the same error.

I am attaching the images of the files formed.

Hi Karan,

So, in this can_boot_app_mcu_rtos the "a72 core" wont boot when we run this command ?? -->

make -s -j can_boot_app_mcu_rtos HLOSBOOT=linux BOOTMODE=mmcsd BOARD=$board SOC=$soc BUILD_PROFILE=release CORE=mcu1_0 BUILD_OS_TYPE=tirtos
Is that what you meant ??
Than if i want to boot HLOS=linux how and what changes would i need to make ?
