GPIO in DSK6713

Dear TI members,

I need to use GPIO  of TMS3206713 processor. I am using DSK6713 board. I am not able to understand in which expansion connector the GPIO has been routed. I need it urgently.Plz help me. Also I dont have any example program to make parallel digital output.

  • Biprangshu,

If you are using the Spectrum Digital DSK6713, they provide very good documentation on the board and very good support software for the board. If you do not have access to this documentation from the original CD that came with the board, you can also get it from www.spectrumdigital.com .

The Technical Reference is the document to find which expansion connectors have the GPn signals routed to them. If you need more detail after that, the schematics show the additional logic that is used to enable those signals to be driven onto the expansion connector. There is a separate schematic document as well as a copy embedded within the Tech Ref.

Their Board Support Library (BSL) includes software examples that run on the board.

From TI, you will need to reference the datasheet and the GPIO Reference Guide.

For parallel digital output, the EMIF is the preferred choice. If you intend to use GPIO for this purpose, then you will have to develop your own protocol.
