SK-TDA4VM: How to dock the PIN pins of the USB3.0 device and TDA4 interface

Part Number: SK-TDA4VM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TDA4VM

Hi team,

The customer-designed hardware needs to be connected to a USB3.0 device, which also has an interface to USB3.0 in TI's reference design, but this USB3.0 and the reference core board (the board with the TDA4 chip) are not connected.

The customer would  like to know how to connect to USB3.0 device under host mode for TDA4VM?

Could you help check this case? Thanks.

Best Regards,

Cherry

  • Cherry,

The customer can use the the EVM schematic as a guide for all of the data lines.  Also, see this document for guidance on routing for the Super Speed signals (https://www.ti.com/lit/an/spraar7h/spraar7h.pd).  In host only mode:

    1) Connector VBUS should be attached to a 5V source which is enabled/disabled via the SoC's USB_DRVVBUS signal.

    2) SoC's VBUS input can be left floating

    3) Connector USB_ID can be unconnected.  SoC's USB_ID should be grounded.
