C5504 versus C5505

I'd like to help you with your issue.  However, I want to make sure we're all looking at the correct parts.  Specifically there are several parts that could reasonably be called "C5505" or "C5504":

Can you please confirm precisely which devices you are talking about?  For example, if the board was designed for tms320vc5505 but you ended up using tms320c5504 (no 'v') then there could be issues.  I no longer recall exactly what changed from the vc550x to the c550x from the pinout perspective but we can look into it depending on your answer.

Originally, we did have to use the VC5504 due to non-availability of other parts, but currently have been manufacturing with the TMS320C5504AZCH12 with a TMS320C5505 schematic.  We have followed the VC->C hardware migration guide from TI, so I hope that there are not any artifacts still in the design.

What our specific question is, though: looking at the TMS320C5505 and TMS320C5504 specs, there are still some differences between these parts- the ADC pins, for example.  Are there others that need special attention?  (on the TMS320C5504 webpage, it says the TMS320C5505 has "similar functionality and pinout", what does that mean, exactly?).

Why not simply de-populate these resistors such that you are in compliance with the data sheet?

I did a quick scan of the data sheets but the pins you already mentioned related to A/D were the only ones that jumped out.

Questions for you:

• What's the issue that you're having?
• When you populate a TMS320C5505 everything works correctly?
• Populating with TMS320C5504 makes it break?
• Have you verified your map file to be sure you're using the correct memory?
• What peripherals are in use?
• How have you configured EBSR?
