PROCESSOR-SDK-J721E: eDP (DisplayPort) display

Hi,

I am currently working with RTOS SDK.

I have successfully booted from SD card and ran demo applications.

Now, I would like to work with a display. When I connect DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable to Display0, u-boot does not work. However, when I connect the same cable to Display1 (which is not supported, according to your manual, or has that been changed?), we are able to successfully boot.

For reference, we connected to 3 first (Display0), then tried the empty one beside it.

May I know is this is intended?

Hi Olivia Yu,

Display0 ie "3 connector" is where we would need to connect eDP cable. What issue are you seeing in booting? Also which SDK release are you using?

Hi Brijesh,

Despite starting minicom and restarting the board, there is no output in the terminal.

We are using ti-processor-sdk-rtos-j721e-evm-08_00_00_12-prebuilt.tar.gz.

Hi Olivia Yu,

Strange, I am also using 8.0 release, but not prebuild, and not seeing any issue when eDP is connected.

Are you connecting eDP output to some display panel?

Can you connect all 4 main domain uart port and 2 mcu domain port and see if there is anything displayed on any ports?

Can you try replacing attached files in the BOOT partition?

Hi Brijesh,

The output is connected to a HP monitor.

I have tried replacing the attached files in the BOOT partition, but it still does not work. Immediately after disconnecting the cable and rebooting, it works.

Let me try connecting the 4 main domain uart port and 2 mcu domain port.

Hi Olivia Yu,

ok, can you keep it disconnected when booting and then once Linux is booted, can you connect the cable and see if it works?
