AM5729: How to display the NEON / VFPv4 register set in CCS 11.0 debugging view?

Part Number: AM5729

Dear TI Support Team,

I am working on the Cortex A15 of AM5729 processor. For optimizing some signal processing functions I have to debug the NEON specific code.

The code is compiled for processor_sdk_rtos_am57xx_06_03_02_08.

For the debugging I need the display of the NEON register set, but the CCS 11.0 does not offer such access. It looks so that the FPU registers are hidden in the CPU description files (cpus/cortex_a15.xml, modules/cortexA15_NotVisible.xml), both located in <CCS-Path>ccs/ccs_base/common/targetdb.

Please instruct me to make the NEON registers visible.

Thanks and kind regards
Sven

  • Hello Sven,

If I recall correctly, there was a legitimate reason for why the Registers in question are hidden from the user by default. I'll need to find what those details are. I will share any updates as I get them.

    Thanks
