Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DRA829, DRA821
Hello,
We would like to simply read in a composite video signal and audio signal and then convert it
to MPEG4 (h.264) and save it to an SD card.
For this purpose we are thinking to use an IC of the TMS320DM36x family and evaluate it first on the TMDXEVM368 Evaluation Module.
As we have little experience with this, I wanted to ask before we start:
- To achive this, will we be able to program it on a higher hierarchical level (e.g. write an application that takes the bistream from the composite video decoder IC, then convert it into MPEG4 and then store it on the SD card)
Or would it rather require an in depth development of the individual stages (e.g. write kernel routines and low level applications down to individual register settings)?
- How much effort should this take? What would be the individual modules we will have to create? Would it be something that should be quick (1-2 months development) or would you estimate this to take some longer time?
- Is there a somewhat detailed instruction on how to get started with SW development for the Eval Module?
Thanks and have a great day,
Philipp
