TMS320C6424: Compilation errors on s62 when upgrading to compiler tools v8

I want to upgrade my project from compiler tools v6 to v8. The project includes DSP/Bios v5.42.

When compiling I get many errors on s62 file generated by XDCTools (v3.50), like "Invalid constant specification".

Does it mean that there is an incompatibility between compiler tools v8 and DSP/Bios v5.42 and/or XDCTools v3.50 ?

Should I upgrade to DSP/Bios v6 ?

I am not sure whether the DSP / Bios releases beyond v5.42 support C64x devices. You should be able to check the release notes > device support for the DSP / BIOS release to see supported processors. v5.42 can be downloaded here: https://software-dl.ti.com/dsps/dsps_public_sw/sdo_sb/targetcontent/bios/dspbios/5_42_02_10/index_FDS.html
