TDA4VM: XJ721E0ALF

Part Number: TDA4VM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

Hi ,

We have designed a custom TDA4VM hardware with part number of XJ721E0ALF and we are seeing some issues with the chipset which are mentioned below.

1. We are able to detect the SOC and able to flash the MCU memory ( OSPI) however the UART baud rate it was using is 96000 instead of 115200. we are flashing TDA4VM refernce board binaries and we see UART baud rate are different which is bothering me there is corruption in UART PLL generation. we are using WKUP_OSC0 (19.2MHz) crystal as main clock input for SOC.

2. Also when we put device in UART boot mode the UNIFLASH tool is failing.

3. Also when we put device in USB DFU mode the device detected as unknown USB ( device descriptors are failed ).

is there any errata which talks about above said issues?

Any ideas or pointers to debug the issue mentioned above.

Regards,

Chaitanya

  • Hi Chaitanya,

We are able to detect the SOC and able to flash the MCU memory ( OSPI) however the UART baud rate it was using is 96000 instead of 115200. we are flashing TDA4VM refernce board binaries and we see UART baud rate are different which is bothering me there is corruption in UART PLL generation. we are using WKUP_OSC0 (19.2MHz) crystal as main clock input for SOC.

Can you please share which application are you referring when the UART is using 9600 baud rate?

Also when we put device in UART boot mode the UNIFLASH tool is failing.

Can you please share the failure logs from UNIFLASH flashing?

Also when we put device in USB DFU mode the device detected as unknown USB ( device descriptors are failed ).

Let me get the details on this and get back to you.

  • Hi Parth,

Thanks for the reply and support.

we have identified the issue and resolved the same. the issue is main clock frequecny read by SOC pads MCU Bootmode 0,1,2 are wrong hence we are seeing UART and USB issue. we have fixed it and now boards is booting as usual.

    Thanks again for the support.

    Regards,

    Chaitanya
