DM3730 ball characteristics table in XLS

Hi,

I'm starting a new design with the DM3730, and I'm looking for a table in Excel of the ball characterisitcs for the CUS package (approximately like in the datasheet in pdf).

It will help me to attribute each functions, interfaces and GPIO of the design. I will save a lot of time.

Does anyone have something like this ?

Thanks

:-)

See Pin Mux Utility tool which is available here:

    http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/pinmuxtool.html

This can be used to resolve pin muxing conflicts.

    Installation includes a CSV file:

    (C:\Program Files\Texas Instruments\Pin Mux Utility\DeviceData\AM37xx-DM37xx\PinMuxDeviceData_AM37xx-DM37xx_v1.6.csv)

that can be imported into Excel.

  • Hi Michael,

    Thank you for your answer.

Unfortunately, this CSV file is unusable when I import it into Excel. All the text is only in the first column in Excel.

Otherwise, I think the Pin Mux Utility tool is really usefull for the software configuration of each pin and to avoid conflicts. But, if I may suggest something, I think it would be great if there would be an additionnal column in the Windows interface that the user could complete as he would wish. In this way, the user could be able to add the name of its interfaces (e.g UART for the GPS receiver, USB for the external connector, GPIO for the buzzer activation, ...). It would be easier for the user to manage the pin attribution.

    It's just a suggestion.

    Best Regards,

    Naïc

The Pin Mux Utility is meant to provide an interface that makes it unneccessary to access the CSV file.

Nevertheless, when I open that file with Excel 2003 it loads into columns correctly.  Not sure why your's

    did not.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I am in the process of gathering requirements for improvements to this tool.

Also would like to add the ability to output a CSV file that can be opened with Excel.   It would show the

results of using the tool: ball id, selected signal, pad confguration settings, reg name, reg offset, reg value, etc.

Would also like to be able to read this back in.  Currenly have a File->Save->Design and File->Open->Design

feature.  I will probably just enhance the information that is in that output file and make it CSV format.

I welcome any suggestions you may have.

    Regards,

    Michael T

  • Hi Michael,

I don't understand also why I can't correctly open the CSV file. I just try with Excel 2003 with an other PC but it's the same. The text is only in the first column...

I'm very intersted by your future revision of this tool. It will be very usefull to have the capabilites of exchange with the CSV file.

Do you known when do you plan to release it ?
