TDA3MV: Power management

Part Number: TDA3MV

Hi,

When designing the power supply, the customer did not refer to the EVM power management IC design, and used several sets of DCDC to directly generate 3.3V (VDD_SHV), 1.8V (VDD_SHV, VDDS_1V8, VDDS18V_DDR, etc.), 1.5V (VDD_DDR), 1.0 V (VDD_CORE) ,VDD_DEPEVE), the power-on EN control requirement is simply realized through the pins of the RC circuit DCDC power supply chip, may this design meet the board?

  • Customer should verify all voltages are correct for each power domain.  Also very important is the power up and power down sequence.  These should also be verified with the power sequence defined in the data manual.  If these are all correct - then should be OK using the discrete power solution.

Note TI has not validated every possible power combination and sequence timing - so it is possible for issues to arise. That is why TI recommends using a validated power solution for powering its processors.
