AM3356: Inquiry about how to support external RTC device (two alarms)

Hi team,

Our customer is developing their system with AM3356BZCZA80( Linux SDK) , and they are using RTC device which is R2223L-E2(https://www.mouser.jp/datasheet/2/792/r2221_r2223-ea-1770502.pdf ), as well. This RTC device is supporting two Alarm-configuration, customer would like to control dual alarm functions.

Customer was checking rs5c372.c file, however, it seems supporting just single alarm setting. so,  for this RTC device, they are asking if there is any helpful kernel driver code. Can I have expert’s advice/comments on this inquiry, please?

    Hello Miyazaki,

    Apologies for the delayed response here.

    We can answer questions about TI hardware and TI software on these forums. R2223L-E2 is an external hardware owned by RICOH, and its software driver was developed by someone other than TI. I did search the AM335x SDK 7.3, and I do see a u-boot driver with that name. But I am not aware of any TI code developed for this device to enable two alarm configuration.

    I am going to send your thread to our u-boot owner to see if they have additional feedback.

    I shared your comments with customer. Since there is possibility that RICOH may create the software driver, I requested customer to ask RICOH.
