Part Number: TDA4VM

Hello
I have a problem with PMIC(tps65941111 and tps65941212) in my board, Sometimes the pmic(tps65941212) can work rightly, and i can use Scalable-PMICs-GUI 2.0 read the reg, Sometimes the pmic does not work rightly, i cann't use Scalable-PMICs-GUI 2.0 read the reg, Why  cann't  i read the pmic regs? Is that PMIC is in safe mode?   How to locate the problem of PMIC tps65941111 and tps659412?

  • Hello,

There can be a number of potential issues.

    (1) Does the PMIC power up properly.  During the power up, the VSYS_SENSE line is used to charge the OVGPDRV.  One of the safety features is to perform a fet short test.  If the fet short test fails then the PMIC will not properly power up.  The PMIC VCCA must also be above the UV level; www.ti.com/.../slvuc32.

    (2) Does the PMIC fail the residual voltage check?  If any voltage is present on the regulators while the PMIC attempts to transition from the INIT to the BOOT_BIST states the PMIC will not perform the TO_ACTIVE sequence.  In the TO_ACTIVE sequence the PMIC turns on the load switch which in turn supplies the VIO for I2C communication.

    Regards,
