Is there available, by TI or by third party, a hardware IP block for the AM437x PRU-ICSS that implements interface for the HIPERFACE DSL encoder?

If yes, can I get links for documentation and app notes?

We do not support HDSL SYNC mode in AM437x. Hence we recommend to use AM64x or AM243x for this use case.

Hi,

In your reply you referred to "HDSL SYNC". Is it the same as " HIPERFACE DSL"?

We are already working with AM4377 and we need to support HIPERFACE DSL on this device. Can you please refer to "TIDEP0035" and "tidub77.pdf" document, which is TI Design Multi-Protocol Digital Position Encoder Master Interface Reference Design With AM437x on PRU-ICSS?

Hi
HDSL is same as Hiperface DSL and it supports Free Run mode and Sync mode. Sync mode does position requests to encoder synchronized to PWM cycle of motor.

For AM4377, you can evaluate what is provided in PRU-ICSS-INDUSTRIAL-DRIVES 01_00_02_03 package. No new features are planned as of now.
