Suggestion required regarding EMU Debug

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP-L138

Hi,

We are using OMAP-L138 and designing hardware for the same.

Is it really required to have DIP Swicth option for keeping OMAP-L138 in Emulation Debug mode?

or else still is it possible to connect through CCS even though, OMAP-L138 boot-mode is set to SPI Flash / NAND?

Thank You & Regards,

GSR

  • It is not required to have the OMAP-L138 in emulation debug mode in order to connect CCS to the device.  It can be set to any of the other boot modes.

The purpose of Emulation Debug mode is described in the bootloader application note which indicates the device will not load or execute any application code.  Instead, the ARM fails into an idle loop immediately after device power up.
