Kernel Object View Error

Hello,

I am not using the BIOS Task Manager (unchecked in the BIOS Config) and when I open the DSP/BIOS->Kernel/Object View), I get the following error:

"KNL_curtask not found! There is no TSK module in the program."

I would think I could still use the object view for my SWI's etc.

Is there a work around for this?

I am using CCS 3.3.1 on the c55x processor.

Thanks. Jordon

  • Jordon,

I don't recall using the Kernel/Object Viewer in a program with the task scheduler disabled, but one thing to try is disable the TSK instrumentation in the RTA Control Panel - menu DSP/BIOS --> RTA Control Panel and then uncheck Enable TSK logging and Enable TSK accumulators. However I am not sure if this is enough to bring back KOV functionality.

In any case I will forward this thread to the BIOS forum so you can get more educated answers there. In the meantime you can send additional information such as BIOS version and CCS exact version (the latest is 3.3.82.13).

    Best regards,

    Rafael

  • Hi Rafael,

I tried what you suggested but I still get the errors. I am using CCS 3.3.81.6. I guess we can live without it by default. We can always re-enable the task manager if we have memory for it. Maybe newer versions of CCS 4/5 may work. I will try it out in the next build of 5.1 and I see how it goes. I will keep you posted.

    Thanks. Jordon

  • Hi Jordon,

It does sound like a bug that KOV won't even start up without the TSK module in the app. We don't support KOV in CCS 3.3 anymore, but we do support BIOS 5 ROV in CCSv4/5, and I don't think you'll see this problem there. You'll probably get an error on the TSK view, but you should be able to view the other modules fine.

    Thanks,

    Chris
