TMS320C6457: Which Code Composer IDE and related Package is possible to use for Target Device C6457? (CCS, XDC Tools, SYS/BIOS, Compiler, UIA versions).

Good morning,

i want to ask some indications in order to update my development envronment for a TMS320C6457 target device.

Actually i work with CCS 5.3 with compiler 7.4.1 , XDC Tools 3.24.5.48,  SysBios 6.34.2.18, UIA 1.11.14. The COFF file is setted as output.

I've tried to download and work with CCS8.3.1 that should be the last environment that manage XDS510.

After that i'have tried to update compiler, and other tool listed above, but seems tha the target device is not supported yet.

Can you indicate the most updated tools and relative packages for C6457 target device that i can use?

    Please note that C6457 is an older device that no longer has any design support as per the product page:

    So we can point you to the old software releases, but we will not be able to answer any questions about the hardware or software of this device.

    Keep in mind that you will probably need to use an older version of CCS with this part - after a while, we stop supporting old parts in new releases of CCS. I will reassign your thread to the CCS team to comment.

    Fabio,

    The latest versions of CCS do support C6457.  However as you have noted the last version to have XDS510 support was CCSv8.3.1.  So you would not want to go any higher than that.

    Are you looking to upgrade the compiler, xdctools, sysbios...?

    If you just want to use a newer CCS I would recommend sticking with the versions of the device software you are already using (sysbios 6.34, UIA 1.11). Those software versions will also be validated with specific versions of build tools (compiler 7.4.1 and XDCTools 3.24).  Realistically it would be fine to get the latest bug fix release for the 7.4 compiler which would be 7.4.24.

    I.e. you could use CCSv8.3.1, C6000 compiler 7.4.24, xdctools 3.24.5.48, SYS/BIOS 6.34.2.18 and UIA 1.11.14.
