Hello,
I am wondering what the difference is between the TMS320DM8168CCYGA2 and the TMS320DM8168SCYGA2?
One is for "video security" and the other is for "all others."
Can they be used interchangeably?
Thank you

Hi Mark,
This question has been asked in this post at https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors-group/processors---internal/f/processors---internal-forum/1070694/tms320dm8168-differences-in-s-and-c-silicon-revisions.
Hello,
Thank you for your response. However, the link that you gave doesn't work. It leads me to "page not found."
Can you send a screenshot or something different?
Thanks,
Mark
Hi Mark,
Yes, it appears that the only difference between the two is the "S" version supports video security. As far as if they are interchangeable, I don't know the answer for sure. Most likely yes and may depend on your application usage. Please reach out to the 3rd party partners who can better assist your question as we no longer have direct support for this product on e2e forum. Sorry for lack of guidance.

Hi Charles,
Thank you for your support on this. As you suggested, I have reached out to all of your partners to try and get a clear answer.

Hello Charles,
I messaged the contacts that you gave me without luck.
Is there any person within TI that would know the difference between these processors? If not, why? Is this component going obsolete soon?
Thank you,
Mark
Hi Mark
Charles forwarded this message to me. We have very limited familiarity with the "S" variant, as this was created by a product group that no longer exists.
From all that I can tell , this should work if you previously had an equivalent spec "C" variant , however we strongly recommend that you do a minimal checkout before building volume boards , we are not in a position to accept any liability nor provide any in-depth technical support.
