AM5746: RTC backup for AM5746 & TPS6590379 system

Hi TI Experts,

Please let me confirm the following question.

[Question]

I am under desinging the syetem with AM5746 and TPS6590379.

I would like to backup RTC with a small Li battery.

Both AM5746 and TPS6590379 have RTC function.

But AM5746 seems to have not RTC only mode, and the sleep current of TSP6590379 may be120uA, so I think the RTC of AM5746 & TPS6590379 can not be used for battery backup mode.

Is it correct? Or you may have the solution for RTC backup.

If so, I will have external RTC IC by I2C or SPI I/F.

Hello, You are right that the SoCs RTC cannot be powered by a small Li battery. I'll ping the PMIC team for their side as well.

Apologies for the late reply on this. It is also unadvisable to power the RTC of TPS65903x with a Li battery.
